Joint flag march held in Chiniot to ensure peaceful Muharram observances

CHINIOT, Jun 22 (APP):The district administration, police and Pakistan Army in Chiniot on Monday conducted a joint flag march across various areas of Chiniot district to reinforce security measures ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram and instill confidence among residents. Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan, District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif, senior police officials, and Pakistan Army personnel participated in the exercise.
The flag march, which also featured contingents of the Elite Force, Rescue 1122, DSPs and SHOs from across the district, passed through key localities of Chiniot and Bhowana before concluding at Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk. The march aimed to demonstrate the preparedness of law enforcement and security agencies to maintain peace and safeguard citizens during the holy month.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan said all necessary arrangements for Muharram had been finalized, adding that allied departments had completed preparations to ensure the peaceful conduct of religious gatherings and processions. She emphasized that authorities remained committed to facilitating mourners while maintaining public order.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said stringent security measures had been put in place across the district and warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt law and order. He urged citizens to promote harmony and brotherhood and promptly report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies. Residents welcomed the joint flag march and expressed confidence that peace would prevail throughout Muharram.
