Jinnah Institute of Cardiology to offer world-class cardiac care: Minister Salman

LAHORE, Nov 21 (APP):Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that the upcoming Jinnah Institute of Cardiology Lahore will provide world-class cardiac treatment and modern health services to patients across the region.
He made these remarks while chairing the third meeting of the Board of Governors of the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology, held at the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education on Friday. Chairman of the Board Dr. Farqad Alamgir co-chaired the session.
During the meeting, officials from the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) briefed the board on progress at the under-construction facility. A seven-point agenda was presented and approved, while the board also reviewed the implementation status of decisions taken in its second meeting. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) shared an update on the Hospital Information Management System (HIMS), and human resources proposals were approved on the recommendations of the HR Committee.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said the institute would become fully operational soon and would introduce new, advanced services for heart patients. He added that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is committed to providing the best possible cardiac care across Punjab.
Board Chairman Dr. Farqad Alamgir said all members were contributing effectively to strengthen the institute, while board representatives affirmed their goal of establishing it as a transparent, modern, and patient-friendly health model.
IDAP officials briefed the meeting that the 256-bed hospital would be handed over within the scheduled timeframe. Secretary Health Punjab, Azmat Mahmood Khan, directed immediate implementation of all decisions to ensure timely completion.
The meeting was attended by Asad Ali Khan, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof. Tayyaba Waseem, Additional Secretary Technical Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Waseem, Dr. Adnan Khan, Member Health P&D Shafaat Ali, PITB Director Nosheen Fayyaz, Khurram Aziz, Shahid Imtiaz, and other officers, some of whom participated through video link.
