Jamia Binoria Aalamia signs MoU on Halal Services with ICCBS–University of Karachi

KARACHI, Jan 14 (APP):The Halal Certification, Testing and Research Services (HCTRS) at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Fiqh-ul-Halal, Center of Advanced Islamic Studies and Research, Jamia Binoria Aalamia (JBA), Karachi.
The MoU aims to establish collaboration between the two institutions in research and training initiatives in areas of mutual interest.
The MoU was signed during a meeting held at the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, attended by senior officials of both institutions. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director ICCBS, and Sheikh Farhan Naeem, Vice President of Jamia Binoria Aalamia, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
While addressing a meeting, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah said that HCTRS at ICCBS is a well-reputed and highly productive Halal services center of the University of Karachi. He stated that the center provides a comprehensive one-window solution for Halal certification, testing, training, and research.
He added that it is the only public-sector research institution in the country offering such integrated Halal services and is committed to excellence and quality in laboratory operations.
He described ICCBS as one of the largest research establishments in the country, noting that it is among the leading centers of excellence in chemical, biological, and biochemical sciences, and serves as a hub for research and training of scholars from various countries.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Department of Fiqh-ul-Halal, Center of Excellence, Jamia Binoria Aalamia (JBA), is a leading international seminary and academic institution based in Karachi.
Under the agreement, both institutions have agreed to collaborate on research and training initiatives, recognizing the importance of academic, research, training, and technological cooperation—particularly in engaging faculty members, researchers, and professionals in the Halal industry and related fields.
Both institutions will provide opportunities for faculty, researchers, and auditors to participate in Halal audits, training programs, research activities, conferences, symposia, and workshops organized by either party at their respective premises.
Joint seminars will also be organized by JBA and HCTRS–ICCBS, where esteemed members of HCTRS–ICCBS and other prominent experts will share their knowledge and experience with students and faculty of both institutions.
