ISLAMABAD, Nov 25 (APP):The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has reported zero dengue cases as the district administration stepped up its anti-dengue campaign with 25,019 field inspections and 1,025 fogging operations across the city during the past 24 hours.
The district administration released its latest daily surveillance report, confirming that no dengue case was detected in rural or urban areas of the federal capital. Officials said the coordinated efforts of surveillance teams, rapid response units, and field staff have helped control the spread of the virus.
According to the report, teams carried out fogging at 1,025 locations to prevent the potential spread of dengue. Field teams also inspected a total of 25,019 sites in the last 24 hours, including residential areas, commercial spots, under-construction buildings, parks, and open plots.
Hospitals across the city reported that the number of dengue patients under treatment has dropped to only four, marking a significant decline from earlier weeks. The administration said this reduction is the outcome of early detection measures and continuous monitoring of high-risk zones.
During the surveillance drive, larvae were reported from 31 commercial hotspots, while no positive larvae were found at open locations. Teams also conducted spray operations at 175 houses and public areas to eliminate breeding sites.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon said maintaining zero dengue cases was possible due to teamwork and consistent field action. He said that surveillance teams have been deployed round the clock to respond to any emerging hotspot, adding that no area is being left unchecked.
He said strict action was taken at several locations for violating dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). In some cases, responsible individuals were taken into custody for negligence that could contribute to mosquito breeding.
The deputy commissioner said the city is following a zero-tolerance policy against dengue risks to ensure public safety. Continuous monitoring, prompt response, and community participation are helping keep the virus under control.
The administration aims to declare Islamabad a dengue-free zone in the coming days if the situation remains stable. Officials urged citizens to cooperate with field teams, keep their surroundings clean, and report any signs of mosquito breeding.
The ongoing campaign, supported by field inspections, public awareness, and strict enforcement, continues to play a central role in keeping dengue cases at zero. The district administration said it will maintain this pace to safeguard the city from future outbreaks.
