PESHAWAR, Feb 22 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi held a meeting with Ali Banafsha Khah, Consul General of Iran in Peshawar, at the Governor’s House during an Iftar dinner on Sunday.
During the meeting, the Iranian Consul General formally invited the Governor to attend the Pak-Iran Trades and Investment Council Pavilion scheduled to be held in Tehran from April 17 to 20.
Matters of mutual interest, including the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Iran and the prevailing regional situation, were discussed in detail. The Governor thanked the Iranian Consul General for attending the Iftar dinner at the Governor’s House.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kundi said that the Islamic brotherly neighbouring countries, Pakistan and Iran, hold significant geopolitical importance and must work together to further strengthen trade and cultural ties.
He emphasized that for lasting peace and stability in the region, neighbouring Islamic countries should demonstrate unity to thwart hostile designs.
The Iranian Consul General said that the people of Iran share deep-rooted bonds of love and cultural affinity with the people of brotherly neighbouring Pakistan and are keen to further enhance bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.
