RAWALPINDI, Jun 01 (APP):The Inter-District Sports Competitions in Rawalpindi, part of the Chief Minister Punjab Summer Games 2025, have officially started and will continue till June 5.
These games are being held on the instructions of Punjab’s Provincial Sports Minister, Faisal Khokhar, and feature a variety of sports including badminton and kabaddi.
The opening ceremony took place at the Liaquat Bagh Sports Complex, where Punjab’s Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture, Shazia Rizwan, was the chief guest. She formally inaugurated the event.
Divisional Sports Officer Waheed Ahmed and District Sports Officer Shams Tohid Abbasi warmly welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the importance of such events.
In her speech, Shazia Rizwan said the main aim of organizing these games is to help young people grow both mentally and physically, along with their education.
She stressed that positive activities like sports play a key role in shaping a healthy and strong new generation.
She praised the enthusiasm of the young athletes and said their participation shows that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision, “Khelta Punjab Bartha Punjab” is becoming a reality.
Shazia Rizwan also expressed hope that these young players will one day represent Pakistan and bring pride to the country on international platforms.
