MULTAN, Jan 06 (APP):Multan and its suburban areas experienced record-level dense fog on Tuesday, with zero visibility persisting for almost half of the day, severely disrupting routine life.
Reports received from various parts of the city, including Fertiliser Factory area, Usman Ghani Road, Rasheed Abad Flyover, Chungi No. 8, Suraj Miani, Dera Adda Chowk, Gilani Flyover near Aziz Hotel, Bilal Chowk, Bawaz Sharif Road and Flyover, and Kumharan Wala intersection, said these localities remained engulfed in thick fog.
The dense fog badly affected traffic flow, forcing motorists to slow down to ensure safe travel. Motorcyclists and pedestrians also faced serious difficulties in reaching their destinations.
According to the Meteorological Department, cold and wet-cold weather conditions are likely to persist for the next few days, particularly during morning hours.
An advisory has been issued urging travellers to avoid unnecessary movement to stay safe from adverse weather conditions.
The advisory further declared the use of fog lights mandatory and stressed maintaining a safe distance between vehicles.
It warned that higher speeds significantly increase the risk of accidents during foggy conditions.
