LAHORE, Oct 31 (APP):The Punjab government has taken an important decision and made the installation of electric vehicle charging stations mandatory at new fuel pumps across the province.
This major step was taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif signals a major shift towards sustainable transportation and reduction of urban pollution.
This new directive is part of the province’s clean energy and climate policy, which aims to address the problem of smog and emissions in major cities and encourage large-scale adoption of electric vehicles.
Increasing smog in cities and rising prices of petroleum products have been troubling vehicle owners, so electric vehicles offer a cleaner and more cost-effective alternative. Expanding charging options at fuel stations will achieve these benefits.
The barriers to electric vehicle adoption and dependence on imported oil will be reduced, Pakistan’s environmental commitments will be supported, and innovation in local transportation solutions will be promoted.
