SWAT, May 31 (APP): Federal Minister for Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, on Saturday accused India of engaging in a proxy war aimed at destabilizing Pakistan.

Addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the Peshawar High Court Mingora Bench Bar Association in Mingora, the minister said India had already imposed three wars on Pakistan since independence and was now pursuing a proxy war against our country.

He said that India had recently targeted civilians, including women and children, in cross-border unprovoked aggression. In response, he said, the Pakistan Armed Forces had swiftly retaliated by downing six Indian aircraft including Rafale jets and destroying military installations of the enemy country.

“Pakistan is a peaceful country, but this desire for peace should not be mistaken for weakness,” said Muqam. He stressed that any further aggression from India would be met with a strong and professional response, reiterating the nation’s commitment to defending every drop of blood shed by its martyrs.

Muqam reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support for the oppressed Kashmiri people, who continue to suffer under Indian state oppression. “No power can defeat Pakistan,” he declared, emphasizing national unity and resilience.

He claimed that after the successful “Operation Iron Wall,” India’s accusations against Pakistan had lost credibility and the Modi government was now facing criticism even from within India.

Congratulating the newly elected PHC Mingora Bar cabinet, Muqam pledged to support the legal community in resolving their legitimate issues.

He emphasized the critical role of lawyers in delivering swift justice and strengthening constitutional values, and called for greater cooperation between the bench and bar.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, Muqam said the global respect for the Pakistani passport had improved under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.

He said that Nawaz Sharif Govt has eradicated terrorism, end loadsheding and established network of motorways besides state of the art Kidney Hospital Swat.

He added that efforts were underway to address tax-related concerns in Malakand and to discuss the region’s special status with the Prime Minister.

The minister also announced a grant of Rs. 5 million for the Bar Association, which will be used to install solar systems and computers. He said parking and hostel facilities would be proposed for inclusion in the next Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

Muqam criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s poor governance and broken promises , urging it to shift focus from “aimless agitation” to practical steps for public welfare, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to public service, noting that his office remains open to the people and that he considers himself fully accountable to them.
