KARACHI, Jul 20 (APP):A key meeting regarding preparations for Independence Day 2025 was held at Governor House Karachi under the chairmanship of Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori and Federal Minister for Education and Chairman MQM Pakistan Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
Senior MQM Pakistan leaders including Dr Farooq Sattar, Anees Qaimkhani, Amin-ul-Haque, members of the national and provincial assemblies, and key organizational representatives attended the meeting.
It was decided that Independence Day 2025 will be commemorated under the theme “Marka e Haq, Jashn e Azadi”, with nationwide celebrations beginning from 1st August to 14th August. Daily flag hoisting ceremonies will be held, and special events will take place in neighborhoods, educational institutions, and religious seminaries across the province.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori announced that an order for 500,000 national flags has been placed, which will be distributed among the public, especially children. He shared that on 13th August, a spectacular fireworks display and flag hoisting ceremony will be held at Five Star Chowrangi, and on 14th August, the main ceremony will be hosted at Governor House, which will be open to the general public.
Governor Kamran Khan Tessori added that Pakistan has always responded decisively to its enemies, including downing five enemy aircraft, an action acknowledged by U.S President Donald Trump. He said the Independence Day celebrations will send a strong message to the world that Pakistan is a proud, sovereign, and invincible nation.
