PESHAWAR, Jun 12 (APP): The federal government employees serving in Khyber Pakthunkhwa here on Wednesday widely welcomed an increase in salaries and pensions in budget 2024-25.
They said that 25% increase in the salaries of government employees have sparked widespread jubilation in the government employees in all provinces of Pakistan.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has proposed a 20-25% increase in the salaries on ad-hoc basis and 15% enhancement in the pensions of the federal government employees, realising their financial hardships due to the increased inflation.
Despite financial constraints, the government had decided to give 25% ad-hoc relief in the salaries of employees from Grade 1-16 and 20% to Grade-17-22 employees aimed at increasing their purchase power.
The employees of Federal Government departments includes Khurshid Alam, Jalal Khan, Waris Khan and Sajid Ali welcomed the announcement about creation of the pension fund.
The labourers also hailed an increase in minimum wages from existing Rs 32,000 to Rs 36,000 per month.
