RAWALPINDI, Jul 06 (APP):Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has said that Imam Hussain’s sacrifice against oppression ensured Islam’s enduring vitality.
He emphasized that the great sacrifice by Imam left a lesson for humanity to stand by the truth.
He remarked this while speaking to the media during his visit to Raja Bazar to review security for Ashura’s main procession, accompanied by senior police and administrative officials.
The governor termed Ashura as a day to honor Imam Hussain’s stand for truth, patience, and sacrifice, emphasizing that love for the Prophet’s family is a cornerstone of faith. He prayed for strength to follow Hussain’s righteous path.
Sardar Saleem lauded the effective security measures made by the district administration. He said that the peaceful processions reflected strong coordination among the public, administration, and law enforcement. He also commended volunteers, peace committees, and religious scholars for their role in maintaining order.
During the visit, the governor engaged with citizens to hear their sentiments and instructed authorities to vigilantly monitor the processions to prevent any incidents, ensuring a secure Ashura observance.
