LAHORE, Jun 29 (APP):Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Smuggling Circle Lahore arrested an unlicensed travel agent involved in illegal overseas employment schemes.
FIA spokesperson told the media on Sunday, that arrested suspect identified as Aftab-ur-Rehman was operating business namely “Legal Migration Consultancy” in Johar Town, Lahore.
During the raid, the FIA officials recovered 31 Pakistani passports, various other documents, and Rs 807,000 in cash, along with receipts believed to be collected
from victims. Additionally, 25 mobile phones and other relevant records were also seized.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect maintained contact with other agents and foreign associates through these mobile devices.
The spokesperson added the suspect was involved in collecting large sums of money from citizens under the guise of providing employment abroad, despite lacking a valid license. The suspect failed to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the recovered passports and documents, the spokesperson said.
FIA Lahore Zone Director Sarfaraz Khan Virk said that investigations were underway, and more arrests were expected based on leads provided by the suspect.
