ABBOTTABAD, Feb 27 (APP):The Consumer Protection Department Abbottabad Friday has intensified its enforcement actions under the Consumer Protection Act 1997, sealing an illegally operating petrol pump and imposing fines on multiple violators during a market inspection campaign.
Assistant Director Industries/Consumer Protection Department Abbottabad, Farhat Jadun, carried out detailed inspections in various markets across the city.
During the operation, a petrol pump was found operating without fulfilling mandatory legal and regulatory requirements. The authorities immediately sealed the facility until completion of the required documentation and compliance with the law.
The inspection team also took action against shopkeepers found selling expired food items. On-the-spot fines were imposed under relevant legal provisions, and violators were issued strict warnings against repeating such offenses.
