ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday reserved the decision on a prisoner’s petition claiming the same facilities that are being given to the PTI founder in jail.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the case filed by an Adiala Jail prisoner Muhammad Irfan, who is convicted in a murder case and facing a life imprisonment sentence. The bench reserved the decision after hearing the initial arguments of the petitioner’s lawyer.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, hearing the case, remarked that the court would pass an order into the matter. Lawyer Naveed Malik Advocate appeared on the behalf of the petitioner.
The lawyer argued that the petitioner is facing a 25-year prison sentence in a section-302 case. I have applied to the Superintendent Jail several times to provide superior class facilities but have not received yet.
The lawyer said that his client is not being provided with the facilities that are being given to the founder of PTI.
The founder of PTI is not only provided with the best facilities but also his meetings are arranged.
He prayed that the court should direct the parties to provide his client the same facilities of PTI founder. The petitioner has named the Home Secretary, Superintendent Adiala Jail, Chief Commissioner and Home Department as respondents in the case.
The court reserved the verdict after hearing the preliminary arguments.
