ISLAMABAD, Sep 04 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed the Accountability Court to decide its jurisdiction in fake banks accounts case within 15 days in light of NAB amendment.
A two-judge bench comprising Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Muhammad Asif heard the petitions of accused Abdul Jabbar and Najmuz Zaman regarding NAB jurisdiction in fake bank accounts case.
The bench instructed the accountability court to decide that under which court’s jurisdiction does this case fall.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro summoned Special Prosecutor NAB Rafay Maqsood to the rostrum and asked why this jurisdiction is not being decided.
NAB prosecutor adopted the stance that accused’s petitions are under process in the accountability court.
The bench said that we are directing the trial court to decide on jurisdiction within 15 days. After this, the case was adjourned.
