KARACHI, Mar 02 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Javed Alam Odho on Monday ordered strict action over alleged security lapses during arrangements made in Karachi on March 1, following complaints of negligence, mismanagement and reported financial and human losses.
According to spokesperson for Sindh Police, initial inquiries led to a recommendation for the removal and suspension of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Keamari from the post.
The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Keamari, along with the Station House Officers (SHOs) of Docks, SITE-B, KPT and Jackson police stations, as well as the in-charge of the Foreign Security Cell, were also suspended.
The suspended DSP was directed to report to the Central Police Office (CPO), while the SHOs and the Foreign Security Cell in-charge were instructed to report to Police Headquarters Garden.
To ensure a transparent probe, a high-level committee has been constituted to investigate the incident. The six-member committee, headed by the Additional Inspector General of Police, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), includes DIGP Headquarters, DIGP Special Branch Sindh, SSP Investigation CTD, and AIGP Establishment and Operations.
The committee has been tasked with submitting a comprehensive fact-finding report within seven days.
