IGP Sindh orders comprehensive survey of police properties
KARACHI, Sep 02 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Javed Alam Odho has directed a comprehensive survey of all Sindh Police properties across the province and ordered the creation of a centralised database containing their complete details.
The directives were issued during a review meeting chaired by the IGP Sindh at the Central Police Office Karachi to assess the performance of the Estate Management Department and the current status of police properties.
The participants were briefed by Additional IGP Estate Management on the recent Court judgment concerning Sindh Police properties, its implementation and the future course of action.
In light of the court’s decision, the IGP directed that a detailed survey of all Sindh Police properties be conducted across the province.
He ordered that complete information about each property, including its location, existing structures, tenants and other relevant details, along with photographs and videos, be compiled in a centralised data centre.
Javed Alam Odho also directed the formulation of a comprehensive standard operating procedure and policy for the maintenance, repair and security of Sindh Police properties.
He ordered that fresh tenancy agreements be executed with all tenants and rents be reassessed according to prevailing market rates.
The IGP further directed that prior approval of the Estate Management Committee be made mandatory before any Sindh Police property was rented out.
Additional IGPs Karachi and Operations, DIGPs Headquarters and Finance, and AIGPs Estate Management, Welfare, Finance, Establishment, Logistics and Operations attended the meeting in person, while zonal and divisional DIGPs and district SSPs participated through video link.
