IGP reviews security arrangements for Pakistan vs South Africa ODI cricket series

FAISALABAD, Oct 31 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar reviewed security arrangements for Pakistan-South Africa ODI cricket series, here on Friday.
During his visit to the city, he went to the Safe City Project, Police Khidmat Markaz and reviewed CCTV monitoring and response systems of different places in the city from the Safe City Command and Control Room.
RPO Zeeshan Asgar, CPO Sahibzada Bilal Umer and other senior officers were flanked by him.
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar was briefed by the SSP Safe City Tariq Mehboob and Incharge Khidmat Markaz Muneeb Gilani about security measures taken for Pak vs South Africa cricket series to be played at Iqbal stadium.
He was also informed about modern cameras, command and control center and modern monitoring system.
On this occasion, RPO Zeeshan Asghar said that the crime rate has fallen by 33 percent since the Safe City Project became operational in the district.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar also reviewed the quality of facilities and services being provided to citizens at the Police Khidmat Markaz and observed simulators, staff performance, application process in the driving licensing branch.
He said that no doubt, the safe city project was playing a key role in protecting the lives and property of the people and urged the officers to ensure crime prevention, traffic management and make the environmental surveillance more effective through this project.
He also urged for further improving the monitoring system to provide a better and safer environment to the citizens.
The police chief said that Police Khidmat and Tahafuz Marakaz as wellas Meesaq Centers were playing a perfect role for the welfare of the citizens.
He said that Khidmat Marakaz and Licensing Centers reflect the people- friendly face of the police department.
