LAHORE, Jul 31 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar chaired a meeting in Lahore on Thursday to review the overall performance of the Crime Control Department (CCD).
Additional IG Sohail Zafar Chattha gave a detailed briefing on CCD’s recent initiatives and achievements.
Expressing satisfaction over the department’s efforts, Dr. Usman Anwar commended the CCD’s role in cracking down on serious crimes, adding that the Punjab Police are actively working to curb criminal activities in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. “The CCD is delivering excellent results through effective coordination and strategic planning with district police,” said IGP.
He further appreciated the department’s contributions in apprehending wanted criminals, robbers and kidnappers as well as in locating missing children.
The IGP emphasised the need for intensified action against major drug dealers and motorcycle theft gangs.
The meeting was attended by DIG CCD & HRM Umar Farooq Salamat, DIG Internal Accountability CCD Waqas-ul-Hassan along with all regional officers, district officers and other senior officials of the department.
