IGP reaffirms commitment to welfare of police employees’ special children

LAHORE, Oct 16 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has reiterated his commitment to the welfare and rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy belonging to police personnel, taking significant steps to provide sustained support under the police welfare program.
A spokesperson for Punjab Police stated that a special fund of Rs. 3 million has been allocated for 100 children diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Each child has received financial assistance of Rs. 30,000. Additionally, a monthly stipend of Rs. 10,000 per child is being disbursed to support ongoing care and development needs.
To date, a total of Rs. 59.2 million has been distributed during the current year under this initiative.
IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasised that all available resources are being utilised to ensure the treatment, rehabilitation, and overall well-being of the special children of police personnel. He added that the scope of the welfare programme is being expanded to provide a more dignified, convenient and better quality of life for these children and their families.
