IGP Punjab orders boost in police relief operations amid flood crisis

LAHORE, Jul 17 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has directed police teams to intensify rescue and relief efforts in flood-affected areas across the province.
According to Punjab Police spokesperson, the police are actively engaged in relocating citizens to safer places and are playing a key role in ongoing rescue operations. The spokesperson added that Punjab Police control centres continue to monitor flood situations closely in the affected districts. Regional police officers and district police officers are personally supervising relief activities to ensure timely and effective response.
Dr. Usman Anwar stressed the importance of regular patrolling by police teams in villages and settlements near riverbanks to protect vulnerable communities. Relief camps have been established and security measures are in place to aid flood victims.
The IGP assured that protecting lives, property, and assets in flood-threatened areas remains a top priority. Police patrols at river checkpoints and sensitive locations continue to guard against potential risks.
