LAHORE, Oct 14 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, on Tuesday visited Mayo Hospital to inquire about the condition of police personnel injured in the recent violent incident in Muridke.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Usman Anwar expressed pride in the courage of the Punjab Police officers who faced gunfire to protect the lives and property of citizens. He directed the hospital administration to provide the best possible medical care for the wounded.
The spokesperson confirmed that among those receiving treatment at Mayo Hospital are ASI Saleem, Constables Mohsin, Mujahid and Ali Akbar. The Muridke incident left one police officer martyred and 48 injured, including 17 with bullet wounds, added spokesperson.
AIG Admin and Security Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi, SP City Division Lahore Bilal Ahmed, and other senior officers accompanied the IG during the visit.
