IGP honours SI Furqan for winning two bronze medals at WPFG

LAHORE, Jul 24 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar met Sub-Inspector Furqan Ahmad Khan Pehlwan on Thursday at the Central Police Office to commend his outstanding performance at the World Police and Fire Games (WPFG).
According to police spokesperson, Furqan won two bronze medals in wrestling competing in both Greco-Roman and freestyle categories, defeating opponents from the United States and Mongolia. He was honoured with a certificate of appreciation by IGP for his remarkable achievements.
Highlighting the consistent success of Punjab Police athletes on national and international stages, Dr. Usman Anwar praised them as a source of pride for the department. He assured that efforts to encourage and support police athletes would continue robustly.
The WPFG saw participation from law enforcement and firefighting teams from over 80 countries worldwide. Furqan was the sole representative from Punjab Police and Pakistan at the event held in the United States, added spokesperson.
