LAHORE, Jan 26 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar has approved the release of over Rs 1.96 million for the medical treatment of police personnel injured in the line of duty in Lahore and other districts of the province.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the funds were released after scrutiny by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee.
Punjab Police spokesperson providing details, said that Rs 0.5 million has been released for the medical treatment of DSP Muhammad Usman. Constable Muhammad Jamshed has also been provided Rs 0.5 million for his wife’s heart surgery. Sanitary worker Raees Inayat has been granted Rs 0.2 million for kidney treatment, while ASI Aman Ullah has been given Rs 160,000 for medical expenses. Similarly, retired office superintendent Muhammad Irshad, Sub-Inspector Jafar Raza, Constables Muhammad Ashfaq, Samsoon and retired constables Sana Ullah and Muhammad Javed Awan have been provided Rs 100,000 rupees each for medical treatment.
Punjab Police are also providing the best possible medical facilities to its employees and their families, while during the last year, the Central Police Office and all districts collectively spent nearly Rs 8 billion on police welfare.
