LAHORE, Jul 25 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, on Friday addressed under-training officers of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA), Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) corporals, law officers and sub-inspectors completing their integrated course at Police Training College, Lahore.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the IGP emphasised the importance of justice-oriented and technology-driven policing. He directed the officers to ensure free registration of crimes and provide justice to victims through Safe City initiatives and tech-based patrolling.
The IGP said that CTD corporals are receiving specialised training to combat growing terrorism threats. He highlighted that the nation remains engaged in efforts to counter internal and external threats, including the Fitna Al-Khawarij and the influence of hostile elements. “Our personnel are risking their lives to protect national security,” he said.
Dr. Usman further said that PERA would play a pivotal role in curbing encroachments, profiteering, hoarding and overpricing. He added that the professional performance and track record of officers completing training would be crucial in determining future promotions.
Commandant Police Training College Lahore, DIG Mehboob Aslam Lillah, SP Syed Mehmood-ul-Hasan, instructors and senior officers were present at the event.
Later, the IGP met with Class-IV employees of the training college, acknowledging their contributions to the institution’s excellence.
