IG Punjab approves Rs 2.37m for police personnel medical treatment

LAHORE, May 21 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. Usman Anwar approved the release of additional funds amounting to over Rs 2.37 million for the medical treatment of police personnel and their families.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, a sum of Rs 1 million was allocated for DSP Saifullah’s kidney transplant. Rs 0.5 million was granted to retired Sub-Inspector Bilal Tareen for his liver cancer treatment. Traffic Warden Ali Shahid was provided with Rs 2.5 lakh for his wife’s major surgery. Junior Clerk Ali Abbas was given Rs 2.5 lakh for his wife’s brain tumor treatment. The widow of the late Office Superintendent Imran Ali and Constable Nadir Ali were given Rs 1 lakh for medical treatment. Constable Abid Ali, retired Constable Muhammad Sarwar and sweeper Muhammad Saleem were granted a total of Rs 1.67 lakh for their medical care.
IGP Punjab release the fund after scrutiny by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee.
Dr. Usman Anwar further emphasized that under MoUs with various institutions, the police department was ensuring top-notch medical facilities for its employees.
