QUETTA, Mar 04 (APP): Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir has said that 1,115 officers and personnel of the Balochistan Police have laid down their lives in the line of duty to ensure peace and protect the public, vowing that their sacrifices will not go in vain.
He made these remarks while speaking to a delegation of religious scholars from the National Paigham-e-Pakistan Aman Committee, led by Allama Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, who called on him in Quetta. Additional IG Agha Mohammad Yousaf was also present on the occasion.
IG Tahir welcomed the delegation and noted that Balochistan has been severely affected by terrorism. He said the police force has played its full role in maintaining peace despite limited resources.
“Every responsible and conscious Pakistani citizen has a duty to cooperate with law enforcement agencies for the establishment of peace,” he said, emphasizing the constructive role of religious scholars in promoting harmony and guiding society in accordance with Islamic teachings and the principles of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
He added that the presence of scholars from all schools of thought, as well as representatives of minority communities, in the National Paigham-e-Pakistan Aman Committee reflects unity and inter-sect harmony in the country, which he described as encouraging.
Speaking on the occasion, Allama Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi and members of the delegation paid tribute to the Balochistan Police for bravely confronting recent terrorist incidents and preventing major destruction in Quetta. They commended the force for its sacrifices, noting that Balochistan Police has rendered the highest number of sacrifices among all provinces in Pakistan.
The delegation expressed deep respect for the martyrs, noting that 1,115 personnel of the Balochistan Police have made historic sacrifices to ensure peace and safeguard citizens.
Allama Ashrafi also referred to the historical role of Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA), noting that he introduced the concept of an organized police system for maintaining law and order. He remarked that it is due to the dedication of today’s police force that citizens are able to live in peace.
The delegation hailed the officers and personnel of Balochistan Police and assured them of full cooperation in efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the province.
