ICT Police’s 24th annual summer camp concludes with enthusiastic participation

ISLAMABAD, Jul 10 (APP):The 24th annual Summer Camp of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police concluded on Thursday with a vibrant and well-attended closing ceremony held at the Police Lines Headquarters.
A police spokesman told APP that senior officers, children and their parents attended the event, which marked the culmination of a month-long initiative aimed at engaging youth through constructive activities.
He said the summer camp was organized as part of community policing efforts, providing children aged 4 to 12 with training in horseback riding, swimming, archery, taekwondo, martial arts, football, golf, basic first aid, and self-defense exercises.
He said fun activities such as magic shows and arts sessions were also arranged to make the experience enjoyable and enriching for the children.
He said the initiative was designed to equip children with positive and constructive skills during the summer break.
He said the ICT Police have been successfully organizing summer camps since 2002, and this year marked the 24th edition of the program, reflecting their continued commitment to community engagement and youth development.
He said such activities would continue in the future to promote community policing and public trust, as emphasized by the Deputy Inspector General of Headquarters, Muhammad Jawad Tariq.
He said parents of the participating children praised the efforts of Islamabad Police for organizing the camp and providing valuable training in a safe and disciplined environment.
At the end of the ceremony,  appreciation certificates were distributed among the children who participated in the camp.
