ICT Police put Shalu Gang’s three in handcuffs; weapons, phones recovered

ISLAMABAD, Nov 24 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police’s Khanna Police Station has arrested three members of the notorious “Shalu Gang”, recovering weapons and snatched mobile phones during a major crackdown against street criminals.
A police official told APP on Monday that the operation was carried out on the directions of SHO Khanna Shahnawaz Dogar, while ASI Dilshan Farooqi and his team used technical surveillance and human intelligence to trace and arrest the suspects.

He said the gang was involved in multiple snatching incidents along the Islamabad Expressway and various areas of the twin cities. During the operation, police recovered two pistols, ammunition, and 10 mobile phones snatched in separate incidents, which the suspects were attempting to sell.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested men confessed to committing snatching incidents both individually and as a group. He added that raids are underway to arrest other accomplices linked to the gang.
Residents of the area appreciated the swift action of Khanna Police, stating that the gang’s arrest will help reduce fear in the locality and curb street crime.
SSP Operations  Qazi Ali Raza commended SHO Shahnawaz Dogar, ASI Farooqi and the entire police team for their effective strategy, timely response and professional performance. He said the ICT Police will continue its zero-tolerance policy against street crime to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
