ICT Police put husband in handcuffs for setting wife on fire in Kirpa
ISLAMABAD, Apr 07 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested a husband within hours for allegedly setting his wife on fire by sprinkling petrol in the jurisdiction of Kirpa Police Station.
An official told APP on Tuesday that the victim’s mother lodged a report at Kirpa Police Station, upon which police immediately initiated action and registered a case.
He said Kirpa police utilized human and intelligence resources and acted swiftly to arrest the accused husband, Wahid Ahmed, within a few hours of the incident.
According to initial investigation, the accused set his wife on fire following a domestic dispute.
The official said the injured woman was shifted to PIMS Hospital, where she was under treatment.
He said further investigation was underway to ascertain all aspects of the case.
Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against such heinous crimes and ensuring justice for victims.
