ICT Police put 17 lawbreakers behind bars; drugs, weapons recovered

ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested 17 lawbreakers and recovered drugs and weapons during a series of operations carried out across the federal capital.
A police official told APP on Sunday that teams of Aabpara, Secretariat, Ramna, Industrial Area and Bani Gala police stations arrested 11 accused involved in different criminal activities.

He said the police teams recovered 767 grams of ice and two pistols along with ammunition from the possession of the arrested accused. Separate cases have been registered against them, while further investigations are under way.
The official added that during a special campaign launched for the arrest of proclaimed offenders and absconders, various police teams also arrested six criminals from different areas of the city.
Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police are continuing their effective crackdown against crime and criminal elements to ensure peace and tranquility in the federal capital.
He said Islamabad Police remain committed to protecting the lives and property of residents and will not allow any element to disturb public peace, adding that ensuring citizens’ safety remains the top priority of the force.
