ISLAMABAD, Jan 05 (APP):Several officers of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police were injured when a joint survey team of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Revenue Department, accompanied by police personnel, came under attack in Noori Mohallah (Noori Bagh area Bari Imam) of the federal capital.
An official told APP on Monday that the survey was being conducted in accordance with the law when some local individuals resorted to unprovoked firing and stone-pelting at the survey teams and police officers.
As a result of the attack, several police officers sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Their condition was reported to be stable.
The official said ICT Police has initiated strict legal action against those involved in the incident, adding that any attack on law enforcement personnel during official duties is unacceptable.
He said police, in coordination with relevant departments, remains determined to uphold the writ of the state and ensure the protection of public property and the safety of citizens.
