ISLAMABAD, May 13 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested two members of a car and motorcycle theft gang and recovered five stolen vehicles, four motorcycles and seven expensive mobile phones during a successful operation by the Anti Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU).
An official told APP on Wednesday that the arrested accused confessed to their involvement in multiple incidents of car and motorcycle theft in different areas.
He said the recovered vehicles, motorcycles and mobile phones were worth millions of rupees.
According to the official, the arrested accused were identified as Hazrat Ali and Daniyal Amjad.
SSP Investigation Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt said all legal requirements would be fulfilled to ensure exemplary punishment to the accused.
He said indiscriminate action would continue against criminals depriving citizens of their valuable assets.
The SSP Butt further said Islamabad Police was carrying out large-scale operations against organized and active gangs involved in vehicle and motorcycle theft across the federal capital.
