ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has launched M-Tag facilitation services at seven locations across the federal capital as part of efforts to make Islamabad safer and ensure secure vehicle entry into the city.
An official told APP on Wednesday that under the improved security plan, all vehicles entering Islamabad will be required to carry a valid E-Tag or M-Tag for digital verification at entry checkpoints.
He said that vehicles already carrying an M-Tag issued in other cities do not need to apply again, as their existing tag will also work in Islamabad.
The official added that the M-Tag service is available at the following seven points:
1: I-8 Kachnar Park
2: H-9 Excise & Taxation Office
3: Islamabad Club
4: Lake View Park
5: F-9 Park
6: Tarlai
7: Chungi No. 26
He said the initiative is being implemented on the directions of Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who have stressed the need for stricter entry monitoring to strengthen safety in the federal capital.
The official stated that the new system will help verify vehicles digitally, monitor movement, and reduce risks linked to unchecked entry.
He added that citizens should obtain an M-Tag—if they do not already have one—to avoid delays at checkpoints and to support the enhanced security measures across Islamabad.
