ISLAMABAD, Jun 18 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Wednesday carried out a grand search and combing operation in various areas under the jurisdiction of Police Stations Sihala, Noon, Shahzad Town, and Golra to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety.
An official told APP on Wednesday that during the operation, a total of 608 individuals, 447 houses, hotels and inns, 220 motorcycles, and 88 vehicles were checked. He said 109 suspicious individuals were detained for verification, while 45 motorcycles and two vehicles were shifted to the concerned police stations for further inquiry.
He said six accused were arrested during the operation, and narcotics as well as illegal weapons with ammunition were recovered from their possession.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Muhammad Jawad Tariq, stated that the primary objective of the search and combing operations was to tighten the noose around criminal elements and enhance overall security across the city.
DIG Tariq said search operations were being carried out in various sectors of the district, and Islamabad Police would continue indiscriminate action against criminals, land mafia, and drug dealers.
