ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police organized a self-defense course for citizens of the federal capital to equip them with essential skills for personal safety and to handle challenging situations.
An official told APP on Sunday that both men and women actively participated in the training program. A concluding ceremony was held at Police Lines Headquarters, where Additional Inspector General (AIG) Logistics Abdul Haque Umrani distributed certificates among the participants.
During the course, citizens received training in physical fitness, swimming, weapon handling, rappelling, obstacle navigation, horse riding, and archery. The official noted that several batches of men and women have previously completed similar training sessions.
On the occasion, AIG Umrani said that Islamabad Police is fully committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens. He added that addressing public issues on merit and with priority remains among the top goals of the force.
He further emphasized that the purpose of conducting the self-defense course was to enhance the mental and physical confidence of citizens and to promote stronger community policing between Islamabad Police and the public.
