ISLAMABAD, Dec 29 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police carried out a grand search and combing operation in the areas of Aabpara, Bani Gala, Tarnol and Shams Colony as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and ensure public safety.
An official told APP on Monday that the operation was conducted under the supervision of zonal SPs, with the participation of male and female police personnel.
During the operation, police teams checked 380 individuals, 192 houses and five hotels, while 154 motorcycles and 49 vehicles were also inspected.
The official said that, for further verification, 15 suspicious individuals, 17 motorcycles and one vehicle were shifted to police stations. During the operation, one suspect was arrested and illegal weapons along with ammunition were recovered.
He said the purpose of the search and combing operation was to deter criminal elements, enhance surveillance and maintain law and order in the federal capital.
According to the official, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has directed district-wide grand search operations to eliminate crime and strengthen security.
