ISLAMABAD, Jan 24 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have busted two organised looting gangs and arrested seven criminals involved in multiple incidents of robbery and other serious crimes in the federal capital.
A police spokesperson told APP on Saturday that the successful operations were carried out by police teams of Koral and Karachi Company police stations as part of the ongoing crackdown against criminal elements.

He said the arrested accused were wanted in several cases of street crime, robbery and other serious offences. During the operations, police recovered looted cash and valuable mobile phones from their possession. Weapons along with ammunition used in the commission of crimes were also seized.
According to the spokesperson, during initial interrogation, the arrested criminals confessed to their involvement in multiple looting incidents in different areas of Islamabad. He added that further investigation is under way, while efforts are being intensified to arrest other accomplices of the gangs who are still at large.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muhammad Jawad Tariq said that indiscriminate action would continue against criminals who deprive citizens of their hard-earned assets.
He said ICT Police are conducting large-scale operations against organised and active gangs and these actions will continue until the federal capital is made a cradle of peace.
DIG Tariq reaffirmed that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
