ICT Police bust Musa gang, arrest five dacoits including ringleader

ISLAMABAD, Jan 22 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police’s Koral Police Station team have arrested five dacoits, including the ringleader of the notorious Musa gang, involved in multiple armed robbery incidents in the federal capital, and recovered looted cash, valuables and weapons.
A police spokesperson told APP on Thursday that the arrests were made on the special directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of indiscriminate operations against criminal elements.
He said Koral police carried out a successful operation and apprehended five members of the gang, including its leader, who were wanted in several cases of armed dacoity and street crime. During the operation, police recovered snatched cash, valuable wristwatches and weapons used in the robberies along with ammunition from the possession of the arrested dacoits.
According to the spokesperson, the arrested dacoits were involved in multiple incidents of robbing citizens at gunpoint in different areas of Islamabad. During initial interrogation, the accused confessed to committing several armed robberies and other serious crimes.
He added that further investigation is under way, while efforts are being intensified to arrest other accomplices of the gang who are still at large.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muhammad Jawad Tariq said that indiscriminate action would continue against dacoits and criminals who deprive citizens of their hard-earned assets.
He said Islamabad Police are conducting large-scale operations against organised and active criminal gangs, adding that such actions will continue until the federal capital is made a cradle of peace.
DIG Tariq reaffirmed that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
