ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested 25 liquor sellers and suppliers and recovered 785 litres of liquor during a series of operations carried out under the ongoing “Nasha Ab Nahi” (No to Drugs) campaign.
An official told APP on Saturday that the operations were conducted on the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at eliminating drugs and liquor from the federal capital and protecting youth from substance abuse.
He said police teams carried out targeted actions in different areas of Islamabad, resulting in the arrest of 25 accused involved in liquor sale and supply, while 785 litres of liquor were recovered from their possession. Separate cases have been registered against the suspects at relevant police stations, and further investigation is underway.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Qazi Ali Raza said that “Nasha Ab Nahi is not just a campaign but a sustained movement to rid society of drugs and criminal elements.” He added that Islamabad Police are committed to taking strict action against those involved in liquor and narcotics trade.
The SSP Qazi said police would continue indiscriminate operations against drug peddlers and liquor sellers to ensure a safe and healthy environment for citizens, particularly the youth.
