ISLAMABAD, Sep 22 (APP):In a bid to curb profiteers, encroachment, and professional begging, Assistant Commissioners in ICT limits launched a crackdown on Friday and operations resulted in the imposition of fines, sealing of shops, and seizure of polythene bags, sealing of illegal clinics, shisha cafes, petrol filling agencies, and shops violating anti-dengue SOPs.
In a series of operations, a total of 145 inspections were conducted regarding price hikes, resulting in the imposition of fines of Rs. 16,500, the sealing of two shops, and the arrest of two people.
Additionally, 19 professional beggars were apprehended, including a 19-year-old son-in-law of one of the arrested individuals. Action was also taken against illegal clinics and shisha cafes, with one illegal clinic being sealed.
Encroachment operations were also conducted, netting more than 11 kilograms of polythene bags. Further, two illegal petrol filling agencies were sealed and three persons were arrested.
Meanwhile, 16 shops were sealed for violating anti-dengue SOPs, eight violators were arrested, and an FIR is being registered against one person.
The Deputy Commissioner’s office has stated that operations against encroachments, price hikes, and professional beggars are underway on a daily basis.
