KARACHI, Nov 20 (APP):The Ministry of Human Rights, in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education Sindh, marked Universal Children’s Day with an awareness programme on children’s rights here at Government Boys Secondary School, District Central on Thursday.
The program was attended by Regional Director Ministry of Human Rights Karachi Iqbal Pasha Shaikh, Director School Education Karachi Mirza Arshad Baig and other officers of the concerned departments.
The students presented tableaus and speeches regarding their Universal Day and they were informed about the importance of child rights and the protection mechanisms available to them.
Iqbal Pasha stated that such awareness programmes would continue to be held in educational institutions across Karachi to educate students about their rights and the legal protections available to them.
Teachers and students actively participated in the session and appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Human Rights for organizing the event and spreading awareness about child rights.
The speakers stressed the importance of marking of the day and said the Constitution of Pakistan guaranteed the rights of all citizens including children and women.
The chief guest of the program also thanked the participants and also distributed awards and certificates among the students who performed in the event.
