PESHAWAR, Nov 02 (APP): The only link bridge connecting Kumrat Valley collapsed near a historic mosque in the Thal area of Upper Dir after a heavy vehicle attempted to cross it, cutting off road access to the scenic tourist valley.
According to the district administration on Sunday, the bridge was used daily by hundreds of vehicles. During the incident, a heavy truck was crossing when part of the bridge suddenly gave way, causing the vehicle to fall into the river below.
Residents reported that the bridge had been in poor condition for a long time and was awaiting repairs. However, due to official negligence, it has now completely collapsed. The incident has disrupted travel to Kumrat Valley, leaving tourists and locals facing serious difficulties.
