LAHORE, Oct 06 (APP):Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) Chairperson Hina Parvez Butt took notice of a gruesome double murder in Sabzazar on Monday, in which a man shot dead his brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
According to details, the accused, identified as Zary Abbas, allegedly forced entry into the residence of 43-year-old Samar Abbas and opened indiscriminate fire, killing Samar and his wife, 40-year-old Kulsoom Bibi, on the spot. The suspect then reportedly set the house on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence before fleeing the scene.
Police arrived shortly after the incident, recovered the bodies, and shifted them to the morgue for post-mortem examination. The accused was apprehended in a swift police operation, authorities confirmed.
On the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chairperson PWPA, visited the bereaved family to express solidarity and offer condolences.
Speaking to media representatives, Hina strongly condemned the killings, calling them “barbaric and inhumane.” She said the provincial government is committed to delivering justice and will not tolerate such acts of violence.
She assured the family of full legal assistance and support from the government and vowed that the perpetrator would be brought to justice without delay.
