RAWALPINDI, Nov 05 (APP): Punjab Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Shazia Rizwan on Wednesday described the issuance of the Himmat Card as a commendable initiative of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to empower persons with disabilities and strengthen social welfare efforts across the province.
She expressed these views while speaking at a ceremony held here for the distribution of Phase-III Himmat Cards and assistive devices among persons with disabilities.
Shazia Rizwan said the provincial government was taking practical measures to ensure the empowerment and inclusion of differently abled citizens. “Promoting the understanding that disability is not a limitation is our shared national and moral responsibility,” she remarked.
She reiterated that the chief minister was committed to expanding welfare initiatives and enabling persons with disabilities to participate more fully in society through targeted support programmes.
