MURREE, Nov 17 (APP): The Punjab Highway Department has enhanced its winter preparedness in Murree by deploying four newly acquired snow-clearing machines ahead of the expected snowfall.
According to Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Highways Haseeb Ahmed, the additional machinery — three snow blowers and a heavy loader — has raised the Murree Sub-Division’s fleet to 20 units, strengthening its ability to keep major routes open. Temporary labour and transport for salt spreading have also been arranged, he added, while adequate stocks of salt and chemical have been secured.
He said the preparations were designed to ensure swift clearance of snow and uninterrupted traffic flow, with experienced staff and officers remaining on duty round the clock during the winter spell.
SDO Haseeb added that all machinery had been placed on standby to respond promptly to any weather-related disruption.
