HYDERABAD, Jul 09 (APP):The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) Muhammad Roshan Otho met with the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Hyderabad Tariq Razaque Dharejo, and requested police assistance during their anti-theft campaign.
According to the HESCO spokesperson, the DIG assured him that the police in 8 districts of Hyderabad region will fully cooperate with them for this campaign and FIRs will be registered against electricity thieves as well as their arrests will be ensured. On this occasion, a plan of action was also formed for the recovery of outstanding dues.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner said that police and recovery magistrates have been assigned to take legal action against those involved in electricity theft. This announcement was made during a meeting of the Divisional Enforcement Committee for Electricity Theft Prevention, which included officials from HESCO, police, FIA and other departments.
The Commissioner Hyderabad also asked for an update from the HESCO officials regarding the supply of electricity to the Daudpota library from the express feeder and directed that this work be completed as soon as possible. He also directed them to expedite the process to ensure students studying at the library do not face any inconvenience.
The Commissioner directed HESCO officers to appoint their focal persons in each district who will be in close touch with the police and fulfill legal requirements in registering FIRs. He also sought reports from the deputy commissioners of the relevant districts regarding the actions taken against electricity theft. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zainul Abedeen Memon, officers of Police, HESCO and other institutions while the Deputy Commissioners of the remaining districts of the division participated in the meeting through video link.
