HED orders inquiry into alleged recruitment irregularities at UoH

PESHAWAR, Feb 23 (APP):The Secretary of the Higher Education Department on Monday ordered a formal inquiry into alleged irregularities in recent recruitment processes at the University of Haripur.
The secretary took notice of a news report that went viral on social media, alleging irregularities in the university’s recent recruitment process.
According to the Higher Education Department, the viral reports claimed that the selection board proceedings involved alleged nepotism, favoritism, and procedural violations during appointments at the university.
The matter drew widespread attention on social media, prompting the authorities to take immediate action.
An inquiry committee of the Higher Education Department has been constituted, comprising Muhammad Farooq, Additional Secretary, Azhar Zahoor, Deputy Secretary, and the Registrar of the Abbottabad University of Science and Technology.
Officials said the committee has been directed to thoroughly examine the university’s recruitment records and procedures and submit a comprehensive report within 10 days, after which further action would be taken.
Authorities reiterated that transparency and merit would be ensured, and any violations, if proven, would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
