KOHAT, Jun 18 (APP):A review panel appointed by the Quality Assurance Agency, working under the Higher Education Commission (HEC), on Wednesday visited Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) to conduct a qualitative and comprehensive review of the MS/MPhil and PhD programs offered at the university.
The panel is on a two-day visit and assist the KUST in the process of aligning these programs with national and international educational standards, official sources said.
The review panel was warmly welcomed by the university’s Registrar, all faculty deans, Director Quality Enhancement Cell Dr. Muhammad Zeeshan Bangash, Protocol Officer, Muhammad Asim and Public Relations Officer, Rashid
Ishaq.
The visit began with an introductory meeting with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas, after which detailed
presentations on the MPhil and PhD programs were made by Director Quality Enhancement Cell Dr. Zeeshan Bangash in the Senate Hall.
Where Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naseeruddin, Director Academics, Dr. Muhammad Zeeshan and Controller Examinations, Bahadur Khan also present on the occasion.
During the visit, the panel made a detailed observation of various academic and research departments of the university.
Inspection of files, meetings with teachers, research supervisors, research scholars, deans and faculty heads, and review of academic activities were part of this process.
Along with this, the panel also visited scientific and social sciences laboratories, central and departmental libraries, smart classrooms, digital resource centers and other teaching facilities.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas termed this quality review process of the Higher Education Commission as very important for the promotion of higher education and improvement of research, and appreciated the hard work of the KUST team.
He especially praised the integrated planning, effective coordination and hosting of Dr. Zeeshan Bangash
and the Quality Enhancement Cell.
The review panel was headed by Prof. Dr. Dilawar Khan, while the panel included eminent educationists,
deans and senior researchers from different universities, who expressed satisfaction with the teaching and research environment of KUST and gave positive feedback.
